Our Daily Walk–Which Way America?

God’s Love Lettter

I am publishing the following devotional written by Rebecca Windle following President George W. Bush’s first election to office. The writing is pertinent today after the nation voted Donald Trump to the highest office of the land.

Psalms 33:12 ” Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for an inheritance “

We are at a crucial time in the history of America. Two philosophies have clashed at a crossroads, and only one can prevail and continue forward. One denies God a place in government, while the other insists His ways are the foundation of government. So, we must ask ourselves, how long will the Lord continue to bless a people whose tendency is to turn their backs on Him?

When a nation recognizes Jehovah, the God of the Bible, as its Lord; then He favors that country with prosperity, protection, and stability. At present, we as a nation, are the recipients of God’s rich blessings. But by the design of a few, America is being drawn away from Christianity.

We see the corruption that has resulted from attempts at ignoring our country’s godly foundation. Our enemy, a menace within our own borders, is our disintegrating moral character. To steer America back on the right path, Christians must continue to speak up, as they did in the last election. Our next step is clear and simple: repent of the sin of willful ignorance, not only as individuals, but in our churches, and get involved in the life of our nation. Jesus tells us to be the salt and light to influence others with scriptural truth. Found in Matt. 5:13-14.

We also proved we were on the right track by our vote. We could have done otherwise approving homosexual marriages and abortions, but no, that would be against everything Jesus ever taught us. We voted accordingly to the principles of God and our country. This was the believers’ spiritual responsibility.

About Brenda B. Taylor

The desire to write historical fiction has long been a passion with Brenda B. Taylor. Since elementary school, she has written stories in her spare time. Brenda earned three degrees: a BSE from Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas; a MEd from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas; and an EdD from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas; then worked as a teacher and administrator in the Texas Public School system. Only after retirement could she fulfill the dream of publication. Brenda and her husband make their home in beautiful East Texas where they enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and working in Bethabara Faith Ministry, Inc. She crafts stories about the extraordinary lives of ordinary people in her favorite place overlooking bird feeders, bird houses, and a variety of blooming trees and flowers. She sincerely thanks all who purchase and read her books. Her desire is that the message in each book will touch the heart of the reader as it did hers in the writing.
