Praising Him-
“The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the Lord that seek Him: Your heart shall live forever.” Psalm 22:26
If a scale could be developed to rate your passion for knowing the Lord, how high on the scale would you register? When it comes to spiritual matters you may often be satisfied too easily. Is your hunger for knowing God mild? The more you praise Him the more you will want to know Him.
The verbs ‘give thanks’, ‘call upon’, ‘make known’, ‘sing unto’, and ‘talk of’, ‘glory in,’ ‘seek and remember’, are rich and instructive. Their objects include God, His face, His strength, and His marvelous works and wonders. The object of the verbs found in Psalm 105:4, “Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face forevermore.” Can be equally instructive and rewarding. The Word says to seek God with all your heart and He will be found.
Have you ever read the story “The Great Stone Face?” The main character, Ernest, desired to find a man who looked like the face Nature had carved into a nearby mountain. After a lifetime of looking, Ernest himself grew to look like the face. The more you seek and look upon the face of God, the more you will take on His characteristics. His desire is for you to be like Him.
