Love is the Theme

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NLT

Hearts and Scroll

February is the month we celebrate LOVE. We enjoy watching movies, TV specials, and reading stories magnifying the timeless emotion. The greatest love story ever told is recorded in the Bible. The story tells of a God who loves His children so much, He sacrificed His Only Begotten Son so they can be reconciled to Him.

The Lord created you for His pleasure and fellowship as He did with Adam and Eve in the garden. He desires to walk with you, talk with you, and tell you how much He loves you. He also wants you to return His love through accepting the sacrifice of His Son.

Frederick M. Lehman penned the words to the great hymn, The Love of God, in 1917. Although profound, they only hint at the true depth of God’s love.

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.
Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Nothing in all creation can separate you from the love of God if you belong to Him. The apostle Paul wrote, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor  life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NLT

Do you belong to the Lord so that you can be a recipient of His great love? “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 NKJV
